Art

"Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and strength, use it to create." ~Maria Montessori

Students create art through special monthly Art in Action lessons and as part of their regular academic curriculum. Different types of art are hung on bulletin boards throughout the school that invite students to look and wonder.

Art in Action is an art program designed to align with the curriculum and learning development of grades TK-7. Lessons will introduce aspects such as culture, history, story of artists, painting techniques and styles. Each lesson will be presented by the student's teacher.

Parkside has added a Montessori twist to the Art in Action program and students will be able to draw their own inspiration based on the lesson. In this way, each student creates pieces of art that reflect their individual creativity.
